Do we have a right to be called 'CIVILIZED' ?

Today was one of the worst days of my life......after todays incident my faith in humanity is comletely shatered.I think we people are even worse than animals as we don't have any love for other human beings.

wait just let me start from the begining

Today in the morning as I and my friend Shivanshu were returning to the college from 'Gole Ka Mandir' we saw that there had been an accident and some 60-65 people were gathered there. As we approched the site we found that two scooters have collided and three men were injured ,two of them were in serious condition. I heard people shouting "call the police", "take them to the hospital" but nobody came forward. The victims were lying in sun and nobody even cared to shift them to shade. The third person who was consious was crying for help but nobody listened to him as everybody was busy in one thing or another, some were calling to different newspaper offices to tell them about the accident and others were busy in talking about the accident. So we came forward, i helped him to shift them to shade and my friend went to fetch an auto. I also called their relatives telling them about the accident. After sometime police arrived and a few minutes later the relatives of those who were injured also arrived and they rushed them to the hospital.

After sometime Shivanshu returned alongwith an auto so i asked him what took him so long and after hearing his reply i was realy shocked. All this time he was trying to convice the 'Autowallas' to come with him to help those who were injured but nobody came so finally he has to lie to bring one. I don't know who's gonna help these kind of people if something of this sort happens to them.

Well this incident has proved the greatness of the people of our country. We always brag about our moral values, culture and ethics and i realy don't know where these kind of values gonna take us when they cann't teach us to help our own countrymen. We usualy refer to the people of western countries as 'Emotionaly Dead' but i think its the other way around, its we people who are emotionaly dead and not them.

We call overself civilized and at the same time we enjoy watching our brothers and sisters dying in front of our eyes. When we cann't even help other human beings i don't think we have a right to be called 'CIVILIZED'.
